NLSW-1616 LED Wall Grazer | 16×16mm 3D-Bending Wall Wash | Nucleo

Why Grazing Light Changes a Wall

Most wall lights are chosen to make a surface visible. The NLSW-1616 is built to make a surface interesting. Mounted close to the wall and angled into it at a shallow 30° throw, its light doesn't fall flat — it rakes sideways across every ridge, joint and grain in the surface, throwing tiny shadows that a straight-on light would erase completely. Brick becomes more brick. Stone becomes more stone. Even a plain plastered wall picks up a quiet, moving depth as you walk past it.

The fixture itself is a 16×16mm silicone extrusion, not a rigid aluminium channel, so it bends in three directions rather than one. That means the same continuous line of light can run flat along a wall, curve around a cylindrical column, and climb a staircase string — without a single joint or mitred corner breaking the effect. IP67 sealing means the same product goes from a hotel corridor to an open facade without a different SKU.

Grazing Is Not the Same as Washing

Mount the NLSW-1616 close to the wall — 50 to 150mm off the surface — and its narrow 30° beam does something a diffuse wash never can: it throws raking shadows off every surface irregularity. Mortar lines, stone grain, timber joints and plaster texture all become visible in a way flat, front-on lighting flattens out. The closer the mount, the more dramatic the shadow play.

Colour Temperatures

Warm White

3000 K

Suits stone, brick, timber cladding and hospitality interiors — a warm tone that flatters natural, textured materials

Neutral White

4000 K

Suits painted concrete, white render and contemporary facades where a crisper, neutral tone reads the texture cleanly

One Continuous Line, Any Wall Geometry

The silicone body flexes side to side, up and down, and with a slight twist — all without cracking the extrusion or breaking the IP67 seal. A rigid aluminium channel can only follow a flat plane; the NLSW-1616 wraps a round column, follows a bowed wall, or traces a curved staircase string as one unbroken run, with no corner joints to interrupt the grazing effect.

Key Features

True Grazing Optics

The 30° beam is engineered for close-mount grazing, not general area lighting — it rakes across texture rather than flooding a surface evenly.

3D-Bending Silicone

Flexes in all three planes — side to side, up and down, and twist. Wraps columns, bows around curved walls, and climbs staircase strings in one run.

48 LED/m Density

High enough point density that individual LEDs blend into a continuous line before reaching the wall — no visible dot pattern up close.

IP67 Rated

Dust-tight and protected against temporary submersion — the same reel works on an interior corridor or an exposed outdoor facade.

24V Low-Voltage DC

Safe for long outdoor runs and wet locations, with consistent output across the full 5m reel when driver sizing accounts for the 18W/m load.

Dimmable

Pairs with standard 24V PWM dimmers to scale the grazing intensity from a subtle texture accent to full architectural brightness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Grazing and washing both direct light along a wall, but they read differently. A wash spreads light evenly with soft edges and minimal shadow. A graze — which is what the NLSW-1616 is built for — is mounted very close to the surface so its 30° beam rakes across texture at a shallow angle, throwing micro-shadows off every ridge, joint and imperfection in stone, brick or textured plaster. Grazing exaggerates texture; washing flattens it. Choose grazing when you want the wall's surface to become the visual feature.
Typically 50–150mm from the wall face for interior grazing. At 50mm, texture and shadow detail are most pronounced — best for exposed brick, natural stone or fluted panelling. At 100–150mm, the gradient softens into a broader, gentler wash suited to flat plaster or painted drywall. Outdoor facades usually sit 200–400mm off the wall depending on the height being lit.
Yes. Its silicone body bends in three dimensions — side to side, up and down, and with a slight twist — without cracking the extrusion or breaking the IP67 seal. A standard rigid LED strip can only bend flat in one plane. The NLSW-1616's 3D bending lets it wrap cylindrical columns, follow bowed or serpentine walls, and trace curved staircase strings as a single continuous run.
No. At 48 LEDs per metre, the individual points of light blend into a continuous line before they reach the wall surface, so what you see is a smooth gradient rather than a row of dots. This density is specifically chosen for close-mount grazing applications, where lower-density strips tend to show visible scalloping on the wall.
Yes. It carries an IP67 rating, meaning it is fully dust-tight and protected against temporary submersion in up to 1 metre of water for 30 minutes. This covers monsoon exposure, garden wall installations, and exterior facade grazing. The silicone jacket also resists UV degradation, so it holds its flexibility and colour over years of outdoor use.
At 18W/m, a full 5m reel draws 90W. Size the 24V DC driver with headroom rather than running it at the exact load — a 100W driver is the standard pairing for one 5m reel. For longer continuous runs across multiple reels, feed power at both ends or add mid-run injection points to avoid voltage drop dimming the far end of the line.
