A fiber optic illuminator is not a lamp. It is a light source with a job: generate high-intensity light, focus it into the polished end of a fiber bundle, and let the fiber carry that light — not electricity — to wherever it needs to appear. The engine sits somewhere convenient and serviceable: a ceiling void, an equipment cupboard, a pool plant room. The fiber tips are the only part that ever reaches the visible surface.
That separation is the entire value proposition. No current reaches the point of emission. One engine can terminate anywhere from a few dozen to well over a thousand individual fiber ends, which means a single serviceable unit replaces what would otherwise be an array of separate fixtures, each with its own wiring and driver.
Why does this matter for wet or sensitive spaces?
Swimming pools, spas, artwork, textiles and children's rooms all share one constraint: electrical current near the surface is a liability. Fiber optic sidesteps the constraint entirely rather than managing it with IP ratings — because there simply isn't a live component at the point where light appears.

Choosing between Single Colour and RGBW
If the brief is a fixed warm-white star effect or a consistent architectural wash, Single Colour gives the highest output per watt with nothing to configure. If the brief calls for scene changes, seasonal colour, or show programming, RGBW or the DMX variant is the right starting point — the engine and fiber count stay the same either way.

From Power Socket to Fiber Tip
- Light generation: the LED module inside the engine produces high-intensity light at the specified colour or CCT.
- Fiber coupling: a collimating lens at the 20mm or 30mm output port focuses that light onto the polished input face of the fiber bundle.
- Transmission: PMMA fiber carries the light by total internal reflection, with minimal loss over runs up to 15 metres.
- Emission: at each fiber termination, light appears with no heat and no electrical component present.
- Control: for CCT, RGBW and DMX variants, colour and intensity are changed at the engine — via RF remote, app, or DMX desk — without ever touching the fiber runs.
