One Driver, Every Way You Want to Dim

Most projects don't settle on a control system until well into the install — the BMS spec changes, a client asks for a simple wall dimmer instead, or a zone gets DALI added later. Rewiring drivers for each change is the usual cost of that flexibility. The Nucleo DALI DT6/DT8 power supply removes it: DALI digital bus, 0-10V analogue dimming, and manual push-dim are all wired into the same unit from the factory, so the control method is a commissioning decision, not a procurement one.

On the DALI side, the driver speaks both DT6 (single-channel brightness dimming) and DT8 (tunable white or RGBW colour control) — one product line covers plain white LED runs and full colour-tunable installs alike. The body stays constant voltage throughout, in 12V or 24V DC, purpose-built for LED strips and aluminium profile systems.

DT6 or DT8 — Which One Does Your Project Need?

DALI DT6
Single Channel · Dimming Only

Controls brightness (0–100%) of a single constant voltage LED load through one DALI address. The right choice for single-colour or plain white LED strip and profile runs where only dimming is required.

  • Single output channel
  • 0–100% smooth dimming
  • One DALI address per unit
  • Works with any standard DALI controller
  • Available 12V & 24V, 60W–250W
DALI DT8
Multi-Channel · Tunable White / RGBW

Adds colour control on top of dimming. Drives tunable white loads (warm + cool white channels) or RGBW loads (four channels) from the same DALI bus. Needs a DT8-capable controller on the other end.

  • 2-channel (tunable white) or 4-channel (RGBW)
  • Brightness plus CCT or RGBW control
  • Requires a DT8 DALI controller
  • Available 12V & 24V, 60W–250W
  • Suited to hospitality, retail, office fit-outs

Three Dimming Methods, Zero Rewiring

Every unit ships with all three control inputs already wired in — pick the one your project needs at commissioning:

Digital Bus
DALI DT6 / DT8
Full DALI-2 digital bus with precise addressing, scene setting, group control and emergency-gear compatibility — the standard for commercial and hospitality projects.
Analogue
0–10V Dim
Analogue voltage signal — 0V is off, 10V is full brightness. Compatible with standard 0-10V dimmer panels, KNX output modules and BMS analogue outputs.
Manual
Push-Dim
Simple two-wire push-button input. Press and hold to ramp brightness up or down — no controller needed, ideal for residential or temporary installs.

Available Models & Wattages

Pick your output voltage and wattage based on the connected LED load and run length:

Wattage 12V DC 24V DC Max Load Current DALI

DT6DT8
80W ✓ Available ✓ Available 6.7A (12V) / 3.3A (24V)
DT6DT8
100W ✓ Available ✓ Available 8.3A (12V) / 4.2A (24V)
DT6DT8
150W ✓ Available ✓ Available 12.5A (12V) / 6.25A (24V)
DT6DT8
200W ✓ Available ✓ Available 16.7A (12V) / 8.3A (24V)
DT6DT8
250W ✓ Available ✓ Available 20.8A (12V) / 10.4A (24V)
DT6DT8

12V or 24V — which to choose? Use 12V DC for strip runs up to roughly 5 metres per channel, or where 12V-rated LED product is already specified. Use 24V DC for longer runs — up to ~10 metres per channel — to cut voltage drop and keep brightness even end to end; 24V also supports higher wattage per metre on strips of the same width.

Key Features

📐
Ultra-Slim Body
Narrow profile slides inside LED aluminium channels, false ceiling voids, and recessed trunking where brick-form drivers won't fit.
🔵
DALI DT6 & DT8 in One
Full DALI-2 compliant. Single-channel dimming or tunable white/RGBW colour control from the same device line.
🎚️
0-10V & Push-Dim Built In
Three control modes on one unit. Switch between DALI, 0-10V analogue, or manual push-button dimming without changing hardware.
🛡️
Full Protection Suite
Short circuit, overload, over-voltage and over-temperature protection, all with auto-recovery — no fuse replacements.
🌡️
IP20, Fanless
Convection-cooled for indoor dry installations — ceiling voids, control panels, profile channels and other concealed mounting.
Constant Voltage Output
Stable 12V or 24V DC for LED strips, profile systems and any fixed-voltage LED load, with power factor above 0.9.

Sizing tip: add roughly 20% headroom above your calculated LED load rather than matching wattage exactly — a driver running close to its rated ceiling shortens its working life, while the extra margin keeps it comfortably loaded for the long run.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to choose between DALI, 0-10V and push-dim before I order?
No. Every unit ships with all three dimming methods built in — DALI digital bus, 0-10V analogue, and manual push-dim. You wire whichever input your project uses at commissioning, and the control method can change later without swapping the driver.
What is the practical difference between DT6 and DT8 on this driver?
DT6 is single-channel dimming only — one DALI address controls the brightness of a single-colour or white LED load from 0-100%. DT8 adds colour: tunable white across warm and cool channels, or RGBW across four channels, both from the same DALI bus. DT8 needs a DALI controller that supports the DT8 extension; DT6 works with any standard DALI controller.
Is this a constant voltage or constant current driver?
Constant voltage. Output stays fixed at 12V DC or 24V DC regardless of the connected load, within rated wattage. It's built for LED strips and aluminium profile systems — not individual LED modules or COB fixtures, which need a constant current driver.
Which wattage should I specify for my LED run?
Add roughly 20% headroom over your calculated LED load and round up to the nearest available wattage — 60W, 80W, 100W, 150W, 200W or 250W. Running a driver close to its rated ceiling shortens its working life; the headroom keeps it comfortably loaded.
Will the driver fit inside an LED aluminium profile?
Yes. The body is built ultra-slim specifically to slide inside LED aluminium profile channels 35mm and wider, false ceiling voids, and recessed trunking — so it sits fully concealed with no external enclosure needed.
What happens if the output is short-circuited or overloaded?
The driver shuts itself down. Short circuit, overload, over-voltage and over-temperature protection are all built in with automatic recovery — once the fault clears, it resumes normal operation on its own, with no fuse to replace.
