Nucleo · NLE Series

One hidden engine. A thousand points of light.

Nucleo fiber optic light engines push light, not current, through hair-thin fibers. Build star ceilings, pool constellations and gallery accents from a single box tucked out of sight.

Move the light source. Keep the effect.

Most ceilings lose their calm the moment fittings start appearing in them. A light engine solves that by relocating everything electrical to one serviceable box. What reaches the room is only light, delivered through fibers as thin as 0.75mm.

The result is a surface dotted with cool, silent, shock-free points that can twinkle, shift colour or hold a steady warm white. Nucleo's NLE range covers a compact home cinema right up to a 1200-point hotel lobby.

Light travels. Electricity stays behind.

Because the fiber carries only light, nothing live exists at the emission end. That is why the same technology suits pools, nurseries and museum cases where a conventional fitting would need complex protection.

Five engines, five jobs

Pick by scale and effect. Every model can be ordered in single colour, CCT, RGBW or DMX.

NLE-18

20mm port, around 600 points of 0.75mm fiber. The everyday choice for bedrooms, home theatres and mid-sized feature ceilings.

~600 points · 20mm port

NLE-36 Dual Port

Two independent 20mm ports at 18W each. Light two zones from one box, each with its own bundle.

2 ports · zoned installs

NLE-45

30mm port and about 1200 points of 0.75mm fiber. Built for lobbies, large lounges and dense starfields.

~1200 points · 30mm port

NLE-5S Shooting Star

A motorised mechanism inside the engine creates twinkles and shooting streaks with no external controller.

Built-in effect

NLE-90 Pool

30mm port, about 1200 points. Sits in the dry plant room while inert fibers do the work in the water.

Pool and spa duty

Choose the variant before you choose the model

Single colour gives fixed 3000K or 4000K white at full output. CCT tunes from 2700K to 6500K. RGBW opens 16 million colour combinations. DMX adds an XLR input and pass-through for desk or BMS control. Deciding this first narrows the spec fast.

What you get from a fiber system

🧵

Wide fiber compatibility

Accepts PMMA end-emitting fiber in 0.75, 1, 1.5, 2 and 3mm, plus side-emitting PMMA for outlines and edges.

🌡️

Temperature-managed fan

Fan speed adjusts automatically with load, holding the LED cool for steady output across a 50,000-hour rated life.

🎛️

True DMX512 control

DMX variants carry a 3-pin XLR input and a pass-through output, so engines daisy-chain on one line.

⭐

Effect without a controller

NLE-5S runs its twinkle and shooting star routine on its own. Power it and the ceiling comes alive.

💧

Dry electronics, wet fibers

The NLE-90 keeps every live component away from the water. Only fiber enters the pool.

🔀

Two zones, one box

NLE-36 lets a warm ambient bundle and a colour accent bundle run from the same unit.

🧼

Clean ceiling

No fixtures, drivers or cable at each point. Fiber ends are the only thing visible, and they need no servicing.

🛡️

Cool, UV-free light

No UV or IR leaves the fiber end, so fabrics, paintings and skin are not exposed to heat or fading.

Plan the engine location early

Keep it within 15 metres of the furthest fiber end, give the vents clearance, and fit a service hatch. A few minutes of planning here saves opening a finished ceiling later.

Where Nucleo engines earn their place

🌌

Home star ceilings

Bedrooms and media rooms with a soft starfield. NLE-5S adds natural twinkle.

🏊

Swimming pools

Points of light on the pool floor or wall with no electrics in the water.

🏨

Hotel lobbies

Dense constellations over reception and lounge areas using NLE-45.

🖼️

Museums and galleries

Pinpoint accents on artefacts and textiles with no UV or IR exposure.

🧸

Nurseries and sensory rooms

Gentle, cool light points that are safe to place near soft furnishings.

🍸

Bars and restaurants

Feature ceilings and bar backs with RGBW scenes timed to the evening.

🎭

Theatres and show sets

DMX engines slot into existing desk programming for synchronised effects.

💆

Spas and wellness

Slow-fading colour in steam rooms, vaults and relaxation lounges.

🚗

Showrooms and vehicles

Starlight headliners and display plinths where wiring space is tight.

Questions installers ask

NLE-18 handles roughly 600 points of 0.75mm fiber through its 20mm port. NLE-45 and NLE-90 handle roughly 1200 through a 30mm port. NLE-36 has two 20mm ports, each good for about 600 points.
Somewhere accessible and ventilated: a ceiling void with a hatch, a cupboard or a plant room. It has an active fan, so leave clearance around the vents and do not box it in.
Up to 15 metres of PMMA fiber from the engine to the emission point. Shorter runs are brighter, so site the engine as close to the lit area as practical.
Single colour for fixed 3000K or 4000K white at full output with no controller. CCT for tunable white from 2700K to 6500K. RGBW for full colour scenes. DMX when the engine must connect to a lighting desk or building management system.
Yes, with the NLE-90. The engine stays in a dry plant room and only inert PMMA fiber enters the water, so no electrical part exists at the emission point. Use fiber suitable for submersion.
No. The motorised mechanism is built in and runs automatically, producing twinkles and shooting star sequences across the bundle.
All models run directly from AC 100–240V, 50/60Hz. No external driver is required.
Yes. PMMA end-emitting fiber cuts cleanly with a sharp cutter. Trim the engine end flush and bundle it neatly so it seats fully in the port for the best coupling.
